CALGARY FIELD 2020 SEASON MODIFIED

On May 15, 2020, the Government of Alberta released CMOH Order 20-2020 that allows gatherings of up to 50 people in a group, in an outdoor location as long as 2 metre physical distancing remains in place and all other health guidelines are followed. Indoor gatherings remain limited to 15 people.

In alignment with the Government of Alberta’s May 13, 2020 Relaunch announcement, The City of Calgary will ease restrictions to allow sports training, dryland training and skills practice development on city-owned playfields and sport fields (SUGGESTED READING: City of Calgary order on Outdoor Recreation Activities). 

Calgary Recreation is working to re-open sport fields allowing Calgary Field Lacrosse to proceed in a modified manner for the 2020 season. SUGGESTED READING: AHS Guidelines.

2020 CALGARY FIELD SEASON ADJUSTMENTS:

To comply with the current Government of Alberta and City of Calgary Orders, the Calgary Field Lacrosse Season will be modified to include:

  1. Non-contact training in a fun, engaging, competitive environment. Physical distancing practices will be implemented according to AHS guidelines outlined above.
  2. Skill development for new and experienced players including fundamentals, agility/footwork, and positional work.
  3. Development of team and individual lacrosse theory and strategy.
  4. As of May 14, 2020 – Intersquad Games and Tournament travel will not be available per AHS guidelines. This is a fluid situation, should AHS Guidelines change communication will be shared with registered members.
  5. Early registration extended to May 30, 2020.
